I had been seeing a different periodontist for about 9 years before I met Dr. Holtzclaw. I kept getting cleaning after cleaning, but my mouth never seemed to get better. No one could ever tell me why this was happening. They would say I wasn't brushing good enough or that I needed to floss more.
Dr. Holtzclaw took one look at my xrays, measured my gums, and explained to me why things were not getting better with just cleanings. His explanation made perfect sense. I finally had a reason why my mouth was the way that it was.
He suggested a change in treatment from what the other periodontist was doing. We did some surgery and now my mouth actually feels better now! I wish I had done this years ago.
