Review content:
My husband and I went to Hawg Wild for the first time today. We just moved here two months ago, and have been eying the place for awhile. We are so glad we went. Frank, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Service was fast and very friendly. We ordered the app sampler with their smoked sausage, wet brisket and smoked chicken wings--with the house's signature Hawg Wild sauce. The sausage was juicy and tender; the brisket fell apart when we looked at it, and the wings were so good they didn't need any sauce, but we used some anyway--the house sauce is a traditional-style tomato based sauce. Not too sweet, which is a nice change. Just smoky and spicy enough, and it went well with all three meats. We split the vinegar-soaked pulled pork with BBQ pinto beans and corn. Pork was perfect with some crunchy pink outside pieces. It was nice to get a look at a really good smoke ring. The BBQ beans were smoky and wonderful. The corn was corn--nothing special, but good, and the rolls were fluffy and warm. Sweet tea to drink--not too sweet; just about perfect. We were very impressed, and we will definitely be back again to try all the other offerings and dessert that we were too full to eat today. I hope these guys do well--our server said that they are already talking about opening another outlet. If you don't live near Harrison Pointe, hope they build one over by your house. If not, it is well worth the drive to north Cary to give them a try! Pros: Great food, great service, wide variety of sauces Cons: no real place to get away from cigarette smoke
