Our male cat recently had a life-threatening urinary blockage that required immediate attention outside of regular office hours. After being misdiagnosed at the Animal Emergency Clinic on Durango the night before, Dr. Walia met us at the clinic at 10:00 p.m. and treated our cat.
Unfortunately, after spending a week at the clinic, our cat once again experienced a blockage at 1:00 a.m. just a few days after being released. The 2nd blockage was in no way related to Dr. Walia's treatment of him, but rather the nature of the condition he suffered from. I once again called Dr. Walia after hours and was relieved when he promptly returned my call and graciously agreed to meet us at the clinic in the middle of the night.
The following morning Dr. Walia performed a very complicated surgery on our cat that likely saved his life. Our cat has since fully recovered and the issue with regards to urinary blockages has been resolved. I am also happy to report that our cat has not suffered any of the possible side effects of such a surgery. I attribute this to Dr. Walia's skills as a surgeon. My friend’s father is a retired vet and remarked that Dr. Walia had done exceptional work upon examining my cat post-surgery.
While albeit the surgery itself was costly, compared to what other vets would have charged, Dr. Walia's charges were more than reasonable. In addition, during the recovery period, I frequently had to take our cat to the clinic to have the surgery site checked and Dr. Walia never once charged me for the follow up care. He also graciously agreed to meet me after hours on more than one occasion when I had concerns about my cat's recovery.
While I cannot speak to anyone else's experiences, I found Dr. Walia to be a highly competent and caring vet and will continue to utilize his services.
I highly recommend Dr. Walia!
