If your kids are into reptiles, Prehistoric Pets in Fountain Valley is the place for you.
Prehistoric Pets does not charge an entry fee and is more of a Pet Store than an attraction. As you walk in you will see a large pond with turtles and koi fish. For around $2.00 you can buy a container with live worms and a pair of tweesers. You will be able to feed them to the fish and turtles. It is cool to watch the fish jump out of the water to get your worm. Be careful you can get wet!
There is every type of snake you can think of. From small one kept in tanks at the counter or HUGE ones that are bigger than most cars!!
If you need a unique birthday party idea. They offer inexpensive party packages, complete with a show that will teach you about the reptiles and they will bring many out for you to touch. They have private party rooms. Bring your food and cake and have a blast!
