Review content:
First let me state that I love the idea of local brewers, and I love being able to stop at my local brewer to fill up a growler.
Yazoo provides that opportunity in a neat old building. The staff is pleasant, and the crowd is always pleasant, down-to-earth, and interesting.
My only caveat is that the beer is simply ok. Don't get me wrong, the IPA will completely wreck you if you drink more than 3, and fans of darker beers tell me the Dos Perros is damn fine (personally doesn't appeal to me), but other than a seasonal porter, I really don't come back to Yazoo very often, as many of the beers are insipid at best, and unsavory at worst (thinking of the Hefe-Weissen that tastes like bananas).
Will I go back? Absolutely. I love the place, and when the beer's just right, it's damn good. The only problem is, the beer's hit or miss (and usually miss).
Pros: Neat building, great atmosphere, cool local crowd
Cons: The beer's merely OK.
