We've been to Gennaro's a couple of time and the food was decent. The last time we were there we waited to be seated and the hostess wasn't very friendly. She asked us where we wanted to be seated and we asked for a booth. She said all of the booths were dirty and we had to sit at a table. I asked if we could wait until a booth was cleaned that we didn?t mind waiting and she left abruptly and cleaned a booth but of course with an attitude. Our waitress who apparently is the owner's wife was not friendly at all and very rude. I ordered a pasta dish, which was their pasta dish with vodka sauce, and the sauce was a chunky tomato sauce. When I asked if my dish was the correct dish she said it was. I told her that I didn?t think so because it was chunky tomato sauce and not the cr?me vodka sauce and she said, ?that?s how we make our vodka sauce? and left. I'm sure she sensed I was disappointed, then came back and asked if I wanted something else but she was still very rude. It seemed she really didn't want to be there. She offered no apology. When we left not a good bye please come back to see us was said. It wasn?t that busy that they couldn?t go out of their way and be friendly since our meal wasn?t to our liking. It is so disappointing because I truly want to support the family owned businesses especially in my community but I wouldn't recommend Gennaro's to anyone due to the horrible customer service and unfriendly and rude staff. It just amazes me how businesses don't realize that customer service is KEY to being successful. It's really a shame.... because if she was friendly and was passionate about serving us I would have probably shrugged it off and continued to dine at their establishment. I hope they take this criticism constructively.
