Gennaro's Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen

We've been to Gennaro's a couple of time and the food was decent. The last time we were there we waited to be seated and the hostess wasn't very friendly. She asked us where we wanted to be seated and we asked for a booth. She said all of the booths were dirty and we had to sit at a table. I asked if we could wait until a booth was cleaned that we didn?t mind waiting and she left abruptly and cleaned a booth but of course with an attitude. Our waitress who apparently is the owner's wife was not friendly at all and very rude. I ordered a pasta dish, which was their pasta dish with vodka sauce, and the sauce was a chunky tomato sauce. When I asked if my dish was the correct dish she said it was. I told her that I didn?t think so because it was chunky tomato sauce and not the cr?me vodka sauce and she said, ?that?s how we make our vodka sauce? and left. I'm sure she sensed I was disappointed, then came back and asked if I wanted something else but she was still very rude. It seemed she really didn't want to be there. She offered no apology. When we left not a good bye please come back to see us was said. It wasn?t that busy that they couldn?t go out of their way and be friendly since our meal wasn?t to our liking. It is so disappointing because I truly want to support the family owned businesses especially in my community but I wouldn't recommend Gennaro's to anyone due to the horrible customer service and unfriendly and rude staff. It just amazes me how businesses don't realize that customer service is KEY to being successful. It's really a shame.... because if she was friendly and was passionate about serving us I would have probably shrugged it off and continued to dine at their establishment. This place would easily compete in Brooklyn. I've been looking for a good pie in town for a long time now and this place is it. Very tasty pizza and the sausage rolls are excellent. Definately glad I found this place! more

I have been to Gennaro's several times now and will continue to come back. I was never a white pizza fan previously but I tell you what you must try this places white pizza!! It's Amazing, the fresh herbs and cheese melts in your mouth. I am a salad girl so I say strat with either there Ceasar or House, ... either way you can't go wrong.. Oh, wait the anitpasta is tasty too!! The service was prompt and very friendly. The Calzones might take a bit of time but well worth the wait. I have eaten at Gennaro's 3 times now and love it. My favorite is the white pizza. My kid says they have the best chicken strips in town. There pizza is great. We have picked up 2 times and it has always been ready and fresh when we got there. Finally we have good pizza in the south chandler area. They need to get the delivery going soon. Went for lunch. The Calzones require 20-30 minutes so it's not quick. The pizza slices I had were ok. Nothing special. Not enough sauce for me. Coworker had Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was burned and tough - it was literally black on the outside all the way around. Looked like the tried to hide it with the cheese on top but didn't work. The marinara sauce on the pasta was watery so the chicken was sitting in a puddle on the plate. Not appetizing at all. Too pricey for the quality and lack of full service. We may give it one more chance as it was brand spankin' new and just opened. Perhaps they need to work out the kinks. But, if it's this bad again, we will not return.
