Nurses complain to patients constantly about being overworked as reason not giving meds. Food is given to you on meal trays that is not what doctor ordered. Released from hospital only to find out days later that had severe anemia and severe potassium loss with a dangerous levels after nightly blood test were done during my 14 day hospital stay. Told nurses legs were severely swollen and was told to walk and it would be ok. Released to find that I had gained 40 pounds in edema while I was unable to eat. Told after released by new doctor I had to stay off my feet in order to improve and had to be rehospitalized for blood transfusions for kidney failure obvious due to severe edema. Hospital stay here 8 years ago I was operated on by doctor who really made a mess and I was told by nurse that this particular doctor was not really allowed to perform surgeries due to his age but everyone was afraid to hurt his feelings. Overnight simple surgery turned into 4 week hospital stay with home health nursing necessary afterwards and reconstruction surgery afterwards which caused them to not be able to sew me up/had to leave open to heal. Quote from doctor was "Guess what you can get a mack truck through the hole that I left in you". 3 hours in emergency room ---no recent two visits was more like 5-6 hours. Hospital room didn't have clock in it so nurses kept coming in hinting to me while I was barely able to move on oxygen and IV that I might have stolen their clock. I had to keep telling them I couldn't remember if there was one in there or not but I didn't take a clock because that was the last thing on my mind. Information about my condition was relayed to nurses who told me it was my responsibility to tell doctor not theirs. I told them my urine was very strange color and they had urine collection cup in commode but clean up person kept removing it and emptying and nurses never viewed just came in afterwards and ask me how many times had I gone. First discharge took over 3 hours but second discharge more efficiently.
