Review content:
Last week we bought a cute male Beagle from Bridges Pets. We had to sign a medical release stating we would be liable for correcting a hernia the dog had. We had checked with our vet over the phone and he said it was common and would cost $300 to $400 to correct. Hearing that the manager lowered the price from $500 to $200.The pup was in obvious pain when we got it home. We took it to the vet and found the condition WAY worse that Bridges told us it was. The pup had a ruptured scrotum and his intestines were inside the ruptured scrotum sac. He suffered greatly. After $1100 in surgery the dog never recovered. He got a fever, infection and died. He had a miserable short life. The vet said the dog had a congenital birth defect that was caused by bad breeding. It's sibling at the store also had a hernia so this was not an isolated case. Bridges gave us our $200 back but we are out $900 and our beloved pup. They should never take in dogs with such obvious defects that are visible with the naked eye. AND they downplayed the severity of the condition. They only want to make money. I wonder what happened to the rest of the litter. If I could rate them zero stars I would! Save yourself some grief, these people are really not thinking of the animals or the buyers. Do not shop at either Bridges they use the same breeders and divide the litters between the 2 stores. We are consulting an attorney.
