I stopped at Montana's postage stamp of a building in the Heights the other day with a pair of boots that needed stretching. This led to an invitation to sit down and chat, an offer to help myself from a gargantuan tin of Danish butter cookies, and advice that I'd be better off stretching these boots at home, plus detailed instructions on how to do so. While I was there, a pair of Houston Police officers picked up a pair of high, black leather boots. The entire time, a leather craftsman worked intently at his bench by the window. Sorry I can't yet offer information about their boot-making skills, but I'm impressed with the customer service. They also offer other custom leather items.
