Montana Custom Boots is located at North Main and 16th. You get to meet the owner and his son whom will keep you entertained as you wait to either get a pair of custom boots made or get your shoes fixed or shined. They are a master at their practice. Rick Montana is like no other boot maker. Must stop by and you will be satisfied with their service. Great job Rick. Thanks for the shoes. Boots and conversation, too 12/23/2009

I stopped at Montana's postage stamp of a building in the Heights the other day with a pair of boots that needed stretching. This led to an invitation to sit down and chat, an offer to help myself from a gargantuan tin of Danish butter cookies, and advice that I'd be better off stretching these boots at home, plus detailed instructions on how to do so. While I was there, a pair of Houston Police officers picked up a pair of high, black leather boots. The entire time, a leather craftsman worked intently at his bench by the window. Sorry I can't yet offer information about their boot-making skills, but I'm impressed with the customer service. They also offer other custom leather items. Pros: Customer Service more

Patterns are cut, and the process begins. Prices for a leather pair average $500, while more exotic skins start at that price, he says.
