Review content:
My husband and I are both beyond thrilled with Turtlefuns!
We left another daycare and started with Turtlefuns in June 2007,
when our son was 14 mos old. He has flourished in their environment
of caring, fun professionals. He is now 2, and he runs to his classroom
in the morning, embracing his teachers, eager to begin another day of
activities. Recently we had a baby daughter. She is 4 months old and
has joined the Turtlefuns family in the infant room 3 days per week.
She receives tender loving care from experienced, happy people.
We could go on and on about the reasons we love Turtlefuns, but the
main reasons for us include:
(1) Non-corporate environment. The focus is on what is fun, educational,
and safe for the children. Everything was created with the children in
mind, down to the toddler-sized toilets in the bathrooms.
(2) People. Happy teachers = happy parents. You never get the feeling that
your kids are merely being babysat. They have curriculums, rules, and
age-appropriate expectations. There is low teacher turnover, so kids
actually get to build relationships with people. There is a family-like
atmosphere, and we feel that since our children spend about as much
awake time with their teachers as they do with us, then they ARE like
family.
(3) Cleanliness. This place is CLEAN. Besides the fact that the structure
was gutted and rebuilt, so everything is new - the owner is committed to
CLEAN. She has sterilizers, air purifiers, weekly professional cleanings
(rugs, etc.)
(4) Services not common to all daycare. Diapers and meals are provided
and included in the tuition cost. Keep in mind when comparing costs to
other centers. The meals menu is varied and healthy. Also, you have an
opportunity to enroll your child in extracurricular activities such as swim
lessons or piano lessons if you so choose. How great is that?
(5) Flexibility. We have changed our son's schedule a few times since he
started. It has never been a problem. We also have been in a few childcare
jams (who hasn't?) with sick grandparents, etc. Any time we have asked
for extra coverage or needed any help whatsoever, the answer was yes.
We feel like we have a team who supports us in our efforts to be the
best parents we can be, and the craziness of juggling life with us both
working full-time goes largely unnoticed by the kids since they have
consistent, reliable care that they enjoy.
(6) Safe. The building is alarm-coded. Children cannot be seen from
the street behind the locked stockade fencing. The outdoor playgrounds
are full of fun, safe equipment. The pool has its own fence that stays
locked and only the owner has the key for access.
We hope this is a helpful review. To sum it up, we wish we did not need
daycare, but we feel great about the one that we have!
