Businiess name:  Tina's Nails
Review by:  Nina M.
Review content:
As new customers my sister and I went to Tina's Nails on Thursday, June 5, 2008. I have been getting my nails done professionally for over 30 years. My nails usually last for three weeks until I need a fill. On Sunday, June 8, 2008, several of my nails cracked and one even broke. My sister also experienced problems with her nails. On Tuesday, June 10, 2008, we returned to Tina's Nails expecting to receive quality, professional and excellent service. We explained our situation to Tina and showed her the poor nail job. We asked if she would repair our nails as a courtesy. We were led to believe that she would be happy to correct the errors as a professional courtesy. After looking at our nails she admitted that she rushed while doing our nails on June 5, 2008 and she would repair the damage. She also stated, in her judgment that we needed to get a full set of nails to properly repair the damage. At all times, Tina led us to believe this was a correction and courtesy job. The cost of a full set is $25. After she completed my nails and while she was still working on my sister, she indicated that we owed her $66 -- even if we had agreed to pay for the services, it should have totaled no more than $50. Tina was very deceptive in her dealings with us. I paid her $33 for my nails. My sister had no money to pay for her nails. Tina immediately stopped working my sister's nails and, in fact, said she wanted to remove the nails she had put on. I have never been treated in such a misleading and deceptive manner while dealing with a professional business. Tina put forth no effort to satisfy the customer. Tina was fully aware that we were both vulnerable because we initially informed her that we wanted our nails done to attend our mother's memorial services. I would not recommend anyone to support this business because of the lack of customer service and care. I, in fact, will be reporting this incident to the Washington State Board of Cosmetology and the Better Business Bureau. Since Tina did not finish my sister’s nails, we were forced to go to another nail salon. The proprietor agreed that we were, in his professional opinion, treated rudely and unfairly. Obviously, I had to pay for his services. The lack of customer care service on behalf of Tina’s Nails is inexcusable, unprofessional and only added to our grief during our time of bereavement.
