Review content:
Looking for good American-Chinese food in ohio in general is not the best idea, and while the Mandarin does classify as American-Chinese---it doesn't dazzle. Located in downtown Oberlin, this restaurant caters mainly to families looking for a quick bite and college students looking for easy food that doesn't come from a cafeteria tray. None of the food is particularly interesting, nor is it particularly bad. The ambiance is centered on a small tank of koi, and is fairly typical and unobtrusive. The restaurant tends to be understaffed, and so service can be slow during peak hours but the waitresses are nontheless very well mannered and approachable. Overall, Mediocre is the best description I can give the Mandarin. Sushi menu should be taken with a grain of salt.
Try the: Taste of Nirvana, Spicy tuna roll, Pork Mai Fun
