Review content:
I was pleasantly surprised by my brunch experience at Mie N Yu. You get all the benefits of the amazing decor and good food, minus the more annoying aspects of eating dinner there, like the crowds, no place to comfortably wait for a table (unless you go into the bar) and service that can be hit or miss.
I did my research beforehand, checking on their website to look at the different themed dining rooms. We had a pregnant woman in our party and from past experience, I knew one of the low tables with little round cushion seats wasn't going to work for us. I requested a table when I made my reservation online through Opentable.com, in the "Moroccan bazaar" which is the room you first see when you enter the restaurant. Now to be honest, some of the atmosphere is lost during the daytime. It is a little less romantic without the flickering candlelight, but everyone was very impressed nonetheless.
Brunch is a great deal here. All of us had different omelets--I had the chorizo omelet with onions and cheddar, and everyone else had the bruschetta omelet with tomato, onions, peppers, both only $10, and came with a side of potatos. Other more exotic dishes were the mango pancakes and salmon benedict. Drinks are still on the pricier side: different types of Bloody Marys and mimosa-type cocktails are $9.
I would definitely recommend brunch here as a way to indulge in a very unique restaurant at a more economical price.
