Fun Georgetown Dinner 4/20/2010

A lovely and delicious dinner. Thank you. I hosted my friends from California well at your establishment. We especially enjoyed the belly dancer! more

Wow! 11/23/2009

There's really nothing like Mie N Yu in the DC dining scene. The decor is breathtaking, the atmosphere vibrant, and the food top notch. If you want to impress a significant other you have to check out the Bird Cage! more

Brunch at Mie n Yu 2/17/2007

I was pleasantly surprised by my brunch experience at Mie N Yu. You get all the benefits of the amazing decor and good food, minus the more annoying aspects of eating dinner there, like the crowds, no place to comfortably wait for a table (unless you go into the bar) and service that can be hit or miss. I did my research beforehand, checking on their website to look at the different themed dining rooms. We had a pregnant woman in our party and from past experience, I knew one of the low tables with little round cushion seats wasn't going to work for us. I requested a table when I made my reservation online through Opentable.com, in the "Moroccan bazaar" which is the room you first see when you enter the restaurant. Now to be honest, some of the atmosphere is lost during the daytime. It is a little less romantic without the flickering candlelight, but everyone was very impressed nonetheless. Brunch is a great deal here. All of us had different omelets--I had the chorizo omelet with onions and cheddar, and everyone else had the bruschetta omelet with tomato, onions, peppers, both only $10, and came with a side of potatos. Other more exotic dishes were the mango pancakes and salmon benedict. Drinks are still on the pricier side: different types of Bloody Marys and mimosa-type cocktails are $9. I would definitely recommend brunch here as a way to indulge in a very unique restaurant at a more economical price. more

Loved this place! 5/22/2006

Went to Mie n Yu first for a Margarita Tasting which was absolutely fabulous! We tasted pomegranate, mango, ginger & acai margaritas, all delicious....went back there for dinner last week. Reservations are good to have, but if it's early on a weeknight you should not have a problem (get to Gtown right at 6:30 when you can park on the street and you'll be perfect). I had the wasabi crusted tuna, my boyfriend had the duck and our other friend had the crab cakes. Everyone loved their food. It is a little pricey, so expect to pay a little on the high side, especially for drinks...but everything was great. Atmosphere is really cool too... more

Great food, great atmosphere 2/18/2006

It took me a minute to realize that the name of this restaurant was not some word in a foreign language, but rather, a cutesy way of spelling out "Me and You." Whatever the case, I LOVE this place. It's got an Egyptian, North African, Middle Eastern, dark and smoky feel to it, with plush, deeply colored fabrics and dark wood. I'm not even sure I can pinpoint what part of the world this restaurant is supposed to represent, because it seems like a conglomeration. The owners describe it as "fusion, eclectic." This is the kind of place that would be perfect with a date, or with a group of friends. When I have people visiting from out of town, this is one of the places I bring them. The menu has something for everyone, and it's all done well. You'll pay for it, but it's well worth it. Even the bathrooms are creatively decorated. This place has become pretty popular in the two years or so that it's been here, so you'll want to reserve a few days ahead of time -- definitely not the same day. more

Great Romantic Restaurant 9/29/2005

This quite little place is in the heart of Georgetown. It's a small place, that is very romantic, but is not limited to couples. It is also good for group dining. They serve Asian Fusion and have quite a variety of selections. One of my favorites was the lettuce wraps. It is not something that you will find commonly in other Asian fusion restaurants. The staff was very friendly. Recommendations are extremely suggested, and the price range is on the higher side, although if you are dining in that area, most of the dining will fall in the same price range. more
