When I bought my house, my wife and I had already found what we were looking for. The house had already been listed. The only thing we didn't have was an agent of our own.
All three of the agents we contacted (at random, from the phone book) immediately offered to show us properties; no one really wanted to listen to us when we said we'd already found the house. Evidently they were all looking for the coveted sale where they could represent both parties.
I asked around and found Haley, a young real estate agent who was willing to deliver exactly what we wanted: do all the necessary paperwork, schedule the necessary appointments, and nothing else. She delivered perfectly.
I can't comment on how well she can help you find a home, as we had already found ours, but she's professional, courteous, and energetic.
