Businiess name:  Dusty's Tire
Review by:  Ryan M.
Review content:
I brought in two tires to be mounted on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I paid the $40 and waited nearly two hours. I drove away, thinking everything was merry. After all, how difficult is it to mount tires? Especially for a tire shop? Evidently, rather difficult for these folks. First, one of my center cap on my rims fell off on the drive home. I called to complain, and was told they'd attempt to find a replacement. Sometime. Maybe. Then, every few days my tires would lose air pressure. I was literally filling up my tires on a daily basis. I missed a day, and one of my tires literally FELL OFF because it had lost all of its' air. I called, and Dusty's sent out an employee who filled and mounted it (for free) on the spot. The problem is this: I asked the employee what was wrong, or why this was happening. He told me he didn't know. He told me I could bring it back and they could fix it for a fee. A week later I took the vehicle to my usual mechanic in Des Moines. He confirmed the problems in less than five minutes. First, the rims are chrome. He explained that chrome rims can get very dirty and require cleaning before mounting or the bead won't hold. Dusty's didn't do this. Second, two of my valve stems were broken. He said it was common practice to replace all valve stems during a tire change. Dusty's didn't do this either. So, not only did Dusty's fail to adequately install my tires to begin with, even after my excessive problems, they did nothing to help me. I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau. I advise anyone reading this to avoid this business. I presume I just got a "bad apple" employee, but frankly, my experience is simply unacceptable.
