Businiess name:  Thrifty Car Rental

Review content:
I am really disappointed in Thrifty Car Rental. One year ago in June, we rented a car from them in Boston,Ma. We checked it over before driving away and saw no problems. When we returned it ,the person checking it in said it had a ding on one of the metal strips around the wheel. We had not ran over or onto anything that would have done that and told them so. Then we got onto the shuttle and on to the airport to catch our flight Didn't heard anything about it until June of THIS YEAR! Got a call from Thrifty saying we owed them $180 for the damage. Asked them why they were telling us this 1 yr later,---To make a long story short, they referred it to a collection agency which proceeded to call us,send us bills, etc for months. We had not done anything and told that to collection agency. Called our auto insurance co to make a claim, the agent didn't get back to us so thought there was nothing we could do,and my husband was sick of being harassed about our credit being adversely affected, so we paid. The next day the insurance agent called and says she had sent numerous voicemails to the collection agency asking for proof of damages and they never got back to her, then the collection agent called her to tell her that we paid-They Won! According to the ins agent, by paying it was an admission of guilt and the insurance co. couldn't do anything at that point. So, needless to say, we wont be renting from Thrifty if these kind of scams go on there! Mary
