Review content:
My first foray into the West Side Bakery was for a cake tasting for a friend's wedding - we sampled 3 kinds of cakes, 3 kinds of fillings, 3 kinds of icing....every single one of them was better than the last! My friend wound up getting her cake there, and I purchased a cupcake to take home to my husband.
My second journey was quite by accident, as I was shopping at a store next door, and just had to stop in to see what was cooking. Of course, it was lunchtime. One flake, delicious, buttery chicken and cheese croissant, fruit juice, and lemon muffin later...I was satiated.
West Side Bakery delivers the goods. I think their prices are average to maybe above average on some items, but this certainly is a case of - you get what you pay for!
Extra stuff: They have a gorgeous mural on the wall - check it out when you go in - they seem to have different items on rotation in the showcase everytime I go in - the place is kinda small, and seems to get busy quick.
