West Side Bakery, The

West Side Bakery is the best. Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but planning a wedding in a city with which you are not familiar can be more so. When I asked for bakery recommendations, West Side Bakery was recommended highly and continually. The recommendations were correct. Working with the owner was a delight and the cakes (I had two) were beautiful and incredibly delicious. They were the perfect ending to a wonderful day. more

This is the best Bakery! We had their cake at another wedding and that was all it took for us to use them for our wedding cake. We left all of the details up to them and we could not have been more pleased. Not only was the cake a work of art, but it was delicious too! My sister ordered her wedding cake from West Side Bakery, and was very dissapointed. It was very dry, and was did not match the picture that she had brought in for them to duplicate.Not to mention the cake was delivered late to the reception when the guests were arriving!Our family was very dissapointed, and would never go back. more

We went to the West Side Bakery for the first time this weekend. Everything thing there looked so good. We decided on the crème puffs and some cranberry-orange bread. They both were excellent choices. Their selection is unbeatable and everything looks very fresh. They are a little pricy but that is the price you pay now a days for fresh baked goods! Definitely recommended! more

This small bakery and cafe is outstanding. It is well worth stopping to sample the vast array of baked goods. They also offer homemade "soups and special sandwiches of the day." Service is friendly and prompt. All ingredients are "the real thing" so leave your calorie counter at the front door~ Cakes can be bought in small versions as well as large sizes. Holiday trays of cookies may be ordered which look and taste as good as Grandma's. Prices are not cheap but they are a good value~ more

This adorable little bakery is nestled among an attractive line of shops on the busy West Market St. in Fairlawn (Akron). The bakery is impeccably clean and their cakes are to die for. Our favorite is their carrot cake, which is topped with tons of delicious frosting and can come beautifully decorated. They also have great donuts and a friendly staff. more

My first foray into the West Side Bakery was for a cake tasting for a friend's wedding - we sampled 3 kinds of cakes, 3 kinds of fillings, 3 kinds of icing....every single one of them was better than the last! My friend wound up getting her cake there, and I purchased a cupcake to take home to my husband. My second journey was quite by accident, as I was shopping at a store next door, and just had to stop in to see what was cooking. Of course, it was lunchtime. One flake, delicious, buttery chicken and cheese croissant, fruit juice, and lemon muffin later...I was satiated. West Side Bakery delivers the goods. I think their prices are average to maybe above average on some items, but this certainly is a case of - you get what you pay for! Extra stuff: They have a gorgeous mural on the wall - check it out when you go in - they seem to have different items on rotation in the showcase everytime I go in - the place is kinda small, and seems to get busy quick. more
