Businiess name:  J P LICKS HOMEMADE ICE CREAM
Review by:  Alison P.
Review content:
JP Licks in JP is the flagship store in an old firehouse. The ice cream is homemade and there is a rotating selection of odd flavors, including Sam Adams Cream Stout (the Sam Adams Brewery is also in JP), banana, and cucumber. The ice cream isn't cheap but it is very, very good. This location also has pretty good coffee and baked goods. There are a bunch of booths which are all crowded on hot summer nights and weekends, although if you come on a chilly midafternoon you can camp out with your newspaper and school books (if you can handlle the delighted shrieks of small children). Outdoor seating in summer for Centre St. peoplewatching. A real neighborhood hangout. Bulletin board at back, near bathrooms.
