I think the facility as a music venue is one of the best dinner venues in Houston. The saxophonist I learned was a national artist- Mr. Dean James. I expected a down home deep southern cooking type of place. I was joyfully shocked to find Fried Lobster tail served with a flambéed mango chutney sauce prepared tableside. This appetizer had a very fine dining touch and the presentation created a lasting impact upon all at the table... My 17 year old daughter said "Wow"!. She now orders the Lobster as her entree each and every time she visits. My favorite entree is the crusted Redfish Sampler which offers three unique sauces and fish coated in crawfish, andouille and I think shrimp is the third coating... The taste and presentation is to die for. I would rate the music an A every day and the food and A all the timee and the service an A to C depending upon the crowd volume. My last visit was Saturday August 19, 2006. The valet parking attendant was great, the security guard opened the front entry door and then we had to wait over an hour for a seat because of the crowd. Although we hated waiting for an hour, the staff graciously gave all the waiting guest what they call lagniappe, which appears to mean free food and drink as you await a table. The server was new yet kind and professional. My daughter ordered her favorite Lobster, my husband the buttermilk fried chicken and I feasted on a new item "The Scorecard sampler", which offers three unique gumbo's. As usual, the music was an A and the food was an A and the service ranged from a C to a Bt. In the event the service rises to the level of an A, this will become one of the premier restaurants in Houston with I'm sure a 30 day reservation waiting list. PS: Blues Legend Carl Marshal was present on one visit basketball great Robert Horry was present on another... I don't know the music industry but my daughter always spots what she calls a star. Pros: Great Food, Ambience, Valet Parking Cons: reservations are a must to avoid the crowd
