My meal started with what Sugar Shack calls lagniappe, which is translated free pre dinner food or rather as the manager stated "A Palatte Starter". The pre dinner goodies were awesome and great portions. We recieved water, "hot water cornbread" and soul rolls which were egg rolls stuffed with southern ingredients served with their sweet potato sauce called "southern soul sauce". We recieved all this food within 3 minutes of our arrival. I must admit this was truly a great surprise... My friends and I went back on the following evening and the chef's lagniappe was southern wontons made with Jimmy Dean sausage presented on a bed of warm spinach leaves. Although I can't go everynight, I want to go and see the new nightly lagniappe. I advise all to go and have martini's and enjoy the Chef's nightly lagniappe. This is one of the hottest concepts to arrive in Houston! Pros: The Lagniappe Cons: the crowded parking lot
