A great restaurant is 50% food and 50% everything else. Pasta is a great restaurant. First, excellent red sauces, excellent veal! Second the staff is great! Many of them are from italy and are very eager to recommend a good dish and a good bottle of wine. Marciello is a great restaurant manager and has great stories about italy so dont be afraid to ask for him!!! Third I wouldnt go on sunday or monday night as all the best staff have the night off and fourth, the portions aren't big here so order an appetizer or two, get a bottle of wine, and try the dessert, come on you're in Italy! If only for a few hours. Starting with the appetizers. The Bruschetta is very good, delicatley seasoned and well portioned. However for the more adventurous the Carpaccio (thinly sliced raw beef) is an excellent starter. Layered under a bead of arugula and seasoned with olive oil, capers, fresh ground pepper, and the addition of shaved parmesan (upon request) make this truly a great dish. As the name hints there is a very good selection of Pastas to choose from. My favorite is the "Fusili con Salsiccia", a spicy sausage red sauce and fusili noodles, that I have ordered nearly 50 times. The "Bolognese" is also very good as is the Lasagna. I also recommend a look at the specials on the second page as they change every night and are often seafood dishes. The larger plates are also very nice, and as I said before, the veal is not to be missed. Served with great roasted potatoes and even better steamed spinach make this another favorite of mine. Many of the main plates are quite nice but I would stick with the chickens and fish as the red meat is only so so. The desserts are another high point, and I would recommend getting a latte whether you try one or not. I recommend the tatrufo, panicotta, and the cannoli, and that whatever you order remember this is an authentic Italian restaurant so relax, don't rush, and just enjoy Italy, at least a piece of it anyways. Pros: Great service and staff! Cons: none.
