Review content:
I went on a Wednesday night with three friends. Two of my friends had their (very limited) vegetarian offerings, another had the bisteak, and I had the mole chicken. All of us hated our meals. The refried beans were pale, slimy, and bland, the chicken was dry. I love mole, but this was terrible. All of the food was uninspired. We ordered sopapillas, thinking no one could mess that up, but they were awful, just a tortilla in six pieces with a dollop of whipped cream and and some strawberry slices, none of the honeyed and puffed deliciousness I have come to expect from sopapillas. There is too much good Mexican out there to ever waste time on a place like Mi Ranchito. And I do mean waste time--our waiter was gone so long in between visits (even for simple things like bringing water) that she might has well have been cooking all the meals as well. However, we did see at least two cooks in the background, so that wasn't the problem, neither was it a crowd--there were only two other occupied tables. All in all, this place was a total disappointment. Maybe they were good once, but not anymore. Pros: none--you can eat better from a can Cons: terrible food, slow service
