Businiess name:  Evanston Art Ctr
Review by:  B. L.
Review content:
The Art Center takes up residence in what was once the Clarke family mansion. This beautiful English style home was the last one of it's kind to be built in the area before the Great Depression in 1929. The Clarke family was hit hard by the economic "mudslide" of the time as were most. Another family lived here after them and following their departure the Art Center began it's own history. In 1966 the City of Evanston purchased the mansion which is located on the shore of Lake Michigan. There is a small public park across the street as well as the public beach that surrounds this now educational facility. They offer classes to adults and children in every facet of the arts that they are able to; painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, weaving etc... I really enjoy visiting here, it inspires me to paint more wildlife (another one of my great passions) There is a suggested fee of $5 for adults for visiting their museum area.
