Mike understood my problem (shower leaking, need to replace valve) and told me what might be causing it and things I could do to help. Then he gave me the fixed quote for the job ($477 -- seemed a little pricey which is why I gave only 4 stars) and got to work. He was soon back with a small piece of plastic (probably original packaging material) that had been left somewhere in the valve by the original installers. This was the culprit, job price dropped to $147 for disassembling and cleaning valve, and shower no longer drips.
