Review content:
Dr. Barkley is a very good vet - he clearly knows his stuff and he clearly cares about the animals. We've always received good care for our cats.\r \r What he doesn't seem to be is a people person. He may not be super comforting and he's not going to be super patient with you if you don't follow his directions. He has some "smart-ass" moments (as seen in the "I'm not a bank" in another review) and will probably tell you what he thinks about something, maybe bluntly.\r \r Fortunately for me, that's a very common personality type in my line of work, so I'm comfortable with him. If you're a sensitive, "high-touch" person, he may not be for you.\r \r That doesn't mean he isn't a nice, compassionate man - he's just lacking in "high-touch" people skills. When our first cat died he seemed personally upset, and he was very good to us.\r \r I don't really want someone who's going to cry with me and hold my hand. I want someone who knows everything there is to know about cats. He seems like he does.
