Review content:
The five stars are for Iban and Jonathan's efforts on a difficult install, which was due to incorrect material furnished them, and a lack of a necessary tool.
They arrived promptly before the appointed time, and the unit arrived later. As they were unpacking the material, they found that the wrong size copper tubing was furnished, which was corrected later.
The initial installation went smoothly, until it was time to bolt the compressor unit to an existing concrete slab. They didn't have a hammer-drill to drill into the slab for the mounting bolts, so I loaned them my light-duty 1/2" hammer-drill, and they got two holes drilled until my drill started smoking and quit, and will have to be replaced. They drilled the final hole with their small drivers and my large 1/2" corded drill. It would have take hours without the sacrifice of my drill. They attempted to bolt down the unit with the furnished bolts only to find that the 1/2" bolts furnished were too large, so they drilled out the flanges on the mounting plate to accept the larger bolts. Only three were used as it would have been impossible to drill the third because of the tubing run. Additionally, the ducting cover for the tubing was too small, and is held in place with cable ties that I furnished. I will box in the exposed tubing on the inside wall myself as the ducting is too small for that also.
In the future I would suggest that each installer have a heavy-duty corded rotary hammer drill in the truck, or be furnished one for this kind of mounting.
The unit runs great and cools quickly.
It's been a pleasure to do business with Centex and all the employees I've met.
Thank You,
Tom Thompson
