Someone from Blackburn pluming showed up to my mother's house and gave her an estimate for work that needed to be done. She agreed and the worker came back and did the work. The worker told her the price and my mother paid all of it.. Then a few days later the secretary for Blackburn plumbing called my mother and told her she owed an additional $100. My mom informed her that she had paid all of the bill presented to her. The secretary told my mother that after going over the work that was done, they had decided that "they should have charged more". As crazy as this sounds, it's the truth. My mother told the secretary that was ludicrous and terrible business practices. The secretary threatened to take my mother to court, file liens, etc. And then proceeded to call and harass my mother for an entire week, and even sending additional bills and threats. My mother was very upset. I called Blackburn Plumbing and told the secretary who I was, and requested the owner call me back. The owner did call me back, but he started playing tough guy with me, and was defending his bullying, dishonest, and horrible business tactics. I told him that this was wrong, and he started raising his voice at me. He told me to meet him in his office the next morning in a threatening manner. I told him that I had said all I had to say, and the additional fake bill they were trying to blackmail my mother for, would NOT be paid, and that if he felt like "talking" to me in person, he didn't have to wait until "tomorrow", he could come to my home and talk to me right then, then I gave him MY home address and told him I was at home. He hung up on me. A few minutes later he called to apologize for hanging up on me, citing "losing his temper". Then he proceeded to criticize my mother even more, even calling her a liar. At that point, I repeated my position on the matter and instructed him to NEVER contact my mother, nor I in ANY way, and told him that I will contact law enforcement, and hire a lawyer to sue for blackmail for his phony bill.
