Initial call to Mike Counsil Plumbing was to replace a leaky sprayer hose on my kitchen faucet. Joey and Gabrielle were sent to do the job. Upon inspection, Joey informed me the hose is not replaceable and a new faucet unit would need to be purchased. Since I have lifetime warranties on all my faucets through Price Pfister, I had to reschedule for another visit once I ordered the parts. While under the sink, Joey noticed a valve leak on the dishwasher line. He and Garielle struggled to remove the old valve but were finally able to get it off and replace it with a new quarter-turn valve. Both men were very nice, professional and careful.
Second appointment, Joseph S. came to replace the kitchen faucet unit once I received the parts. He, too, was very nice, professional and was careful and mindful of my home while performing the job. The faucet appeared to work well until I discovered later that evening, the spout and handle did not rotate properly. Evidently, it was not centered when it was tightened. Another trip out by Joseph was made and the problem was solved.
While I didn't mind being given information on all the additional services Mike Counsil Plumbing provides, I felt it became more of a pushy sales tactic once I declined. It was clear to me, this is something the technicians are instructed to do since both Joey and Joseph presented it to me almost verbatim.
I also did not like being unable to receive an approximate estimate over the phone for such a straight forward job. There is an $89 service call charge just to come out to the house. This can be applied to the job IF you hire them. Otherwise, you'll be out the money. Did not appreciate this but since this was a bit of an emergency and they could get someone out quickly, I went with them. However, mainly for this reason, I'll think twice about using them again
