Our Jack Russell puppy, Scarlett, was attacked by another dog and her hip was broken as a result. We took her to Oradell Hospital in Paramus,NJ, for surgery on August 16th. She died three days later. The decision to take Scarlett to Oradell is a decision that my family will regret for the rest of our lives. We did not have the luxury of time, nor had we read the numerous negative reviews about Oradell posted on the internet. Cornell Veterinary hospital in Ithaca NY ( one of the finest, most caring institutions in the country) was the obvious choice but a five hour drive away, If we had it to do again, we would have made that drive.\r \r We were told by the orthopedic surgeon at Oradell, Dr. Jonathan Miller, that Scarlett was healthy enough for surgery and that her chances for a full recovery were excellent. The surgery, he told us, ( to repair the hip-with a pin) would cost Approx. $6, 000- and upwards. $6,000 is a lot of money for most people ( it certainly was for us ) but w
