Dr. Wilmeth used to be our regular veterinarian when he was still located here in Chaparral, NM. He was always willing to take a moment to explain if we didn't understand, always willing to go the extra mile after hours, and several years later, and a couple hundred miles away, he still takes my calls when I need his help. I've seen him brokenhearted when he couldn't save an injured colt, perform delicate, almost cosmetic, surgery on a mare's disfigured ear, amputate a dog's crushed leg so cleanly and neatly it looked as though it had never been there, always with compassion and good humor. I could go on and on. We understood when he had the chance to take over a solid practice in a lovely place like Silver City, but we sure do miss him!
