We had the "King" install our new, top-of-the-line water heater a little over a year ago. The installers left our garage in complete disarray with nuts and bolts everywhere. They used our ladder and did not put it back. We called (5 times) to have them pick up their implements, but no one ever returned our calls. The other night we smelled rotten eggs in our garage and determined that something was wrong with the water heater. We were told that our warranty had "just" run out on the labor, but the part was covered. They admitted that the gas control valve was defective on this particular Bradford White product. Instead of just charging us for labor, they tacked on a service charge. We had to pay $149 for a 45 minute service call. The invoice only added up to $124, but when I called, they told me we actually had been given a special discount and the bill should have been for $174.00. They simply don't care about their customers once they sell their product. Our Sears water heater lasted
