I had only the best experience at Heartland Pets. I went in one afternoon simply to look at the puppies during my beginning stages of research before I purchased my first dog. (I had grown up with dogs, but had never had a dog of my own.)
I was about to graduate college and wasn't sure if I was ready yet to be a pet owner. One step inside Heartland Pets and my decision was made for me. Richard and his staff do an excellent job taking care of each and every animal that they have and educating the customer on what it takes to own and properly take care of whatever animal or reptile it is that you're taking home with you. Lola came home with me that same day almost 3 years ago (May 2013).
Lola (long haired mini Dachshund) just celebrated her 3rd birthday and she is the greatest dog I've ever had. Her temperament is amazing and she is so sweet and HEALTHY.
Clearly the negative reviews listed here are from people who constantly spam internet reviews and are "keyboard warriors". I highly doubt that they have ever seen anything horrid at Heartland Pets. It is the cleanest, most professional pet store I've ever been in, with a professional, seasoned staff that take care of and love all of the animals. I would highly recommend Heartland Pets for any animal and pet needs.
To the people that say these dogs come from "puppy mills" why don't you ask to speak to the manager or owner of the store and do some research of where the puppies come from- they were 100% transparent with me.
