Review content:
I usually go to Pep Boys with a comfortable feeling. However after calling on the price to put in a water pump on my car I was told it would cost $34 to check it. It is needed a pump it would be $477. Also the $34 check would not be waived if I had them put on the pump. So total cost would be $511. I wondered about this so I called a few different places on pump prices. The most expensive pump with a life time warranty was $25. I could not believe that Pep Boys was going to charge me $486 for installing the pump. I went to a regular mechanic - (has his own shop) and was charged $80 to install my pump. It took about an hour. Why would Pep Boys charge that much? It is not because they pay their mechanics that much per hour to justify the price of $486. I must say I am really disappointed. I used to think they (Pep Boys) were fair in their pricing. You expect a Car dealership to charge these prices but not Pep Boys.
