Review content:
First let me say I did not have a problem with my AC unit! I contacted Hixon a week in advance to perform a 21 point inspection check. I just wanted a check on my unit before the summer months. The technician check the unit and stated the unit was fine both inside and outside but I did have a "very very small leak" and required 2 pounds of freon. He stated that the unit was good for at least 3 more summers and that everything was fine. Less than 24 hours the unit stopped working and the outside coils froze up. When the technician return two days later he stated that there was no more freon in the unit and that the leak was much larger than he thought. He said I needed a part that was going to cost an estimated $1,800. Is it possible to have a unit without any problems, have someone inspect the unit, find a "very very small leak" and in less than 24 hours the unit just stop working? Possible but not likely! Well, after I had another professional inspect the unit, I was told that my unit was full of freon and no leak. However, I did need a small part that only cost $190. The hundred ninety dollars was for the total cost of the visit, part labor included. Now I'm not saying that Hixon's technician did something wrong or misdiagnosed my unit but........
