Most posters don't seem to know there are TWO vet hospitals sharing the reception area and waiting room at the Pet ER. \r
They are seperate businesses, with completely different facilities and personnel (including receptionists). On the right side is the ER, on the left is Chesapeake Vet. Referral Service, which has sub-groups for internal medicine, eyes, dentistry, cardiology, etc. And the majority of other reviews here are for Chesapeake, *not* for Pet ER. \r
My experience with Chesapeake - specifically with the internal medicine group, AVIM - has been very good, although sadly, the dog was diagnosed with cancer, & had to be put down. I cannot say enough good things about the sensitive and caring way Dr. Petrich and the techs at AVIM dealt with us. \r

As far as ER, I've had one good experience & one bad one. The good experience was when my dog needed a transfusion; my regular vet had me take her to the ER, where we dealt with a female vet who was kind & informative, as were t
