Review content:
Overall, our floor looks amazing now. They replaced our floor completely due to water damage. The office personal are very friendly and helpful as well as the craftsmen are incredibly friendly and helpful. We struggled with communication with the company overall. We talked with one person about the floor and the person doing the work had no idea what was happening. Infact, the guy who came back to look at the concerns we had didn't even know Schmidt floor put the floor in. We ended up telling our concerns and issues to mulitiple people. The carpeting in our living room needed to be restretched and I received a phone call from someone at the company, while the carpet craftsman was in my living room , telling me he needed a code or a key to get in my house. We did have to have some rework done in the transition between our tile floor and the brandnew floor. The original installers left a 1 1/2 inch gap, which looked aweful and not the way the original floor looked. We had to insist that the board be recut to fit so there would be no gap. Also, remember to ask for instructions on how to put your applicances back without stratching your brand new floor. We tried putting things underneath our refrigerator and it still stratched the floor and we had to get it redone within a few weeks of having the new floor put in. When I asked about it they said this happens about 100 times a year so my thought was why not give better guidance about how to have customers move the appliances back with less chance of stratching the brand new floor. Our capeting is already starting to pick up where they restretched it. That is frustrating. Overall, the craftmenship for the wood floor was great and I love my new floor.
