I have been a customer of Monterey Hi-Way Self Storage since January of 2013, and I have had a wonderful experience over the course of two different management regimes.
We sold our family property in that area and needed a place to store our items. I was recommended to their facility by a friend that had used them for a number of years. When I first rented their storage they were under different management.
Around the middle of 2013 the company changed hands. The new manager also turned out to be a really nice guy. The new office people took a moment to get comfortable during the transition, but they have since been really on the case. They recently installed a new surveillance system. They have kept things organized, and I am quite happy with the way they have treated me.
I haven't had anything but positive experiences with them. They did me a huge favor. I needed a place to leave my vehicle, and they allowed me to store it with them in their yard for four months, free of charge. This was great, since they weren't sure if they would have space for it.
I haven't used storage facilities very often throughout my life, but after my experience with Monterey Hi-Way Self Storage, I would say there are several qualities I would look for now.
I would look for friendliness, price, accessibility, cleanliness, and whether or not the area was spacious. Their location is very accessible, it's not located in a high traffic area, and it is not a crammed facility like a lot of competing storages. They have a lot of land and have expanded the operation in the last couple of years.
I would say that I would also look for congeniality, and the people at Monterey Hi-Way Self Storage are very personable. I would definitely recommend them.
