It took me a long time to save for my vacation, so when it came to finding a place to board my dog Liz Lemon, I spent at least three hours on my computer looking places up and calling around.\r
\r
Mt. Tabor Boarding and Grooming asked how much Liz weighed and approximated $130ish. That was more than a place in Clemmons but they were so close that I chose them anyway. When I brought Liz in, once again I confirmed that it was going to be $130. I tried to pay while I was there but the girl said I could just pay when I got back. I assumed she wanted to weigh her to make sure she weighed what I said she did. As I left I felt happy that I had found an affordable place for Liz right up the street.\r
\r
When I came to pick Liz up the counter girl announced that the total was going to be $160.50, $30 more than I was quoted and $15 more than I had on my person. I told her that wasn't correct and she just shrugged and said it was. At this point I felt like my dog was being held hostage. I was panicked but remembered I happened to have a credit card in the car. Apparently I was charged for 6 private play sessions that I never signed up for. Liz doesn't chase balls or play tug-of-war or really do anything besides want to lay in a lap so I never would have volunteered to pay an extra $48 for someone to throw a ball that shes not going to chase once a day. If the private playtimes were mandatory then their price should have been included in the quote that I received twice. \r
\r
As I was leaving the counter girl tried to get me to sign a piece of paper that she said ""I"" forgot to sign. It was a form I had never seen before. It looked like it was something about agreeing to all the fees and conditions of the kennel. Seeing as how I hadn't agreed to the fees, I thought that the audacity of being asked to sign that paper after the fact was ridiculous. I told the girl that I would never bored Liz there again. \r
\r
I decided to email the owner because SURELY this isn't how she normally runs her business. She responded apologizing and said that she would refund the $48 for the play times and I felt happy and satisfied, I was even planning on boarding Liz there again after all, but I never received the check. I emailed her again to let her know that I had not received the check, perhaps it had gotten lost in the mail, but she never responded. I have spend the last two months waiting on the check or her response and I think that was even more frustrating than her just ripping me off. \r
\r
I will never use Mr Tabor Boarding and Grooming again and I want to warn everyone about their shady pricing and negligent owner.
