This Best Western is an older hotel, but the price was reasonable and affordable, and my stay was pleasant. The accommodations were nothing fancy, but met my needs. My room was clean with a hair dryer, refrigerator, and coffee maker, with fairly good coffee enjoyed from a ceramic mug each morning. Each morning I also enjoyed a free buffet breakfast. The food tasted good and the servers were attentive. I had a room with a balcony overlooking Pacific Coast Highway. Reading in the morning on the balcony with the sun shining down on me and a breeze in my face was refreshing and relaxing, which I needed considering the reason I was staying at the hotel. I chose to stay at this hotel because the location was very close to the VA Medical Center in Long Beach. My dad was very ill in the ICU and I needed to be at the hospital every day with him. The most important reason I am writing this review is because I was going through a difficult time during my stay and some staff members went out of their way to show genuine care and concern. Alicia and Brenda allowed me to have a late check out on the day of my departure, and Leo, who worked on the night shift, remembered why I was staying at the hotel and asked me about my dad when I returned to the hotel late one night. I was treated like family. Thank you and God bless you for showing that you cared.
