Do Not Use This Company for any HVAC services!! I moved back to Va Beach and our air conditioning stopped working the 1st week we were here. My husband was out of town, so I saw A-1 on ""Pros to Go"" and thought I ""must"" be able to trust this company since they were recommended and has won awards!! I also had a ""$250 off"" coupon. But NO!. After 3 days of trying to schedule an appointment (and several disconnects/hang ups) I got them scheduled to come out and look at our ac. The guy was over an hour and half late and spent less than 10 minutes (more like 4 or 5 minutes) to look at our ac. He told me that it would cost us $680.00 (and that was after the $250 coupon). My husband came down and read the ""appraisal"" and was furious! He went to Ferguson and bought a $11 compressor and put it in in 10 minutes! I even worked with an A-1 employee who said he made just under $300,000 last year because he said ""with what we are allowed to charge, we make a great profit""! I'll bet - in my case, even if they charged us $250/hour labor, he would have profited over $500!! \r
This company is unethical, unprofessional, rude and almost criminal! If you read reviews on the internet (which I should have done first) you will see that everyone has the same complaints: 1. hugely over priced; 2. horrible customer service; 3. lie about that needs to be fixed; and 4. will charge you extra to fix THIER mistakes!!\r
I seriously warn anyone who thinks about hiring this company...DON'T!!!
