Businiess name:  Apartment People

I would never use Apartment People ever again but it looks like I have to if I ever want to use the $150 bucks they stole from me. I walked into this place on Saturday and went to look at an apartment with one of the agents. The apartment was in decent shape and the neighborhood wasn't, they told me I needed to hope on it ASAP if I ever wanted to get the place. So I filled out an application and put 1st months rent down. (after further research, there was no rush for this, they have 5 plus units available in the building) Well after much thought and consideration and deeper research, I determined the neighborhood really wasn't all that safe for me or my visiting family. So I emailed them the next day and withdrew my application. Apparently all this company cares about it stealing people's money and making sure they either use them FOREVER or NEVER AGAIN. I received an email back that they will be taking $150 bucks out of my application fee and 1st months rent because I cancelled. My safety does not matter to these people.... I understood that the "small print" under my receipt said that if I cancel, they will take my money but I didn't know that because of my safety I did not want to move forward with the apartment that my money would be taken away from me. Now my $150 is "store credit" and I will never get to see it again UNLESS I plan to use them again. Why would I plan to use them again when they took $150 of my hard earned money because I felt unsafe in the neighborhood. But I guess now since they have my money and take pride and stealing people's hard earned money, I am stuck working with them if I ever want to look for another apartment.
