Review content:
I went to the ER at Mercy today with severe symptoms from a spinal cord tumor. After sitting in the ER for 6 hours before questioning the care I was receiving, the staff in the ER absolutely went above and beyond to belittle and demean me to the point where I decided to check myself out of the hospital as I did not feel the least bit comfortable in their care. The straw that broke the camel's back was hearing the ER doctor and an ER nurse call me a "CRIPPLE" and then consistently tell me that I was the problem. All of this in front of my 5-month pregnant wife causing her emotional distress. I had typically been happy with Mercy's care however my experiences today make me question how I had felt about their healthcare system.
