I had an emergency service call to Dean's Plumbing to replace a broken water heater. The service tech was prompt and professional, but I was charged $2500. I needed hot water asap, so I didn't question the quote until I started asking around at work if that seemed high. Everyone I talked to said I was overcharged. The one thing I'm kicking myself for was that I didn't make him split out the cost of labor and the cost of the water heater on the quote, so I don't even know how much I paid for either the labor or the water heater itself. Make sure you don't make the same mistake!
