Review content:
I got my beloved wheaten terrier from Marie Larkin in 2001 and lost him almost six months ago. He brought me much joy and was the love of my life. However, I would discourage anyone from purchasing a dog from her. Christo was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 7, which may or may not be a result of puppy mill breeding. What is a result of bad breeding is the degenerative myelopathy he was diagnosed with. He carried both mutations of the gene as a result of breeding two parents who were carriers. Over the course of a year I watched him progressively lose the use of his back legs, ultimately dying of a blood clot related to the paralysis. This was truly heartbreaking, no wheaten deserves such a fate, and nobody should have to watch someone succumb to this disease.
