My husband took a stray cat that we have been feeding to this vet yesterday to see if it could be helped. They wanted $250 - $300 to do all sorts of test and x-rays. The cat looked like it was on its last leg and he asked if they could just look at him without all that cost. They said that they'd do a couple of test and let him know. He called me while he was waiting and I called another vet and they said it'd be $35 for an exam, but , unfortunately, they were closing in 20 minutes and he was still at the other place. They came back and said it wasn't either of those things and what did he want to do. Again with the $250 - $300. He asked about a price break considering it was a stray, did they not help animals like that? He was told that when an animal was left on the step, they would help it, but wouldn't budge on the price. My husband was very upset and left with the cat. It died not 100 yards from their parking lot. I got a call this morning saying we owed $38 for the test they did. They never offered to put the poor animal out of its misery, they just wanted to do a bunch of test and collect their fee. We've been clients for a few years, but no more. We give to pet charities and felt bad for the abandoned cat, but who wants to pay that kind of money for an animal that looks to be dying. My husband now regrets trying to help. The last few hours of that poor animals life were spent being tramatized at a vets office that didn't care. Cons: no compassion for stray
