Seven years my first dog with my husband died of cancer. I would visit the pet shop now and then to look at the puppies but couldn't bring myself to get another one. Over the next 2 years the owner would talk to me about the puppies and learned what kind of dog I had that had died and how heartbroken I was to even try again. She asked what breed of dog, the personality I liked in a dog and learned what kind of owner I was then she walk away and let me spend time with the puppies alone. She called one day and said she had a puppy for me to see. I told her no and for the next three times and that I wasn't ready. It had been 3 years by now since my dog died. One Saturday I had to run errands and brought my husband with me. We stopped to visit with the owner since we had become friends and the puppy was still there.
